DSE assessor training courses

Trained assessors in your workforce will provide a rapid and professional response to your DSE obligations, so if you’ve got the time and the manpower to do the DSE assessments yourselves then we’re more than happy to show you how.

Workwise DSE assessor training courses provide your designated employees with not only the theoretical background to the DSE Regulations and workstation ergonomics, but also the practical skills required to convince your staff to make the required long-term changes to their work environment — something that isn’t always as easy as it sounds.

We’re only too aware that many health and safety courses can be pretty dull to say the least, so we try very hard to avoid this. Our courses are as interactive as possible and whilst we don’t claim to be the best fun you’ll ever have with your clothes on, course delegates do thoroughly enjoy our courses — even if sometimes they weren’t expecting to!

One-day and two-day courses

All our courses include the following…

  • Why DSE risk assessments are needed in the workplace
  • The regulations/legislation covering DSE work
  • The potential risks to your employees: how they occur, and sensible, cost effective solutions to them
  • Obligations of the employee and employer under the DSE regulations
  • Completion of the essential paperwork
  • Practical role play and demonstrations
  • Supported assessments
  • How to overcome difficulties in people, equipment and environment

In addition, like any quality course, we understand the necessity of ongoing support for delegates and encourage them to use our telephone support service as required.

One-day course option

Whilst we would always encourage clients to go for our full two-day course we do recognize that some organisations simply don’t have the time or budget to make this a viable option.

With this in mind Workwise have developed an alternative one-day course which covers the DSE regulations and practical ergonomics but, due to time constraints, the role play and supported assessment aspects of the course are inevitably more limited. For this reason, delegates are encouraged to do some assessments themselves as soon as possible after the course in order that they may consolidate their theoretical knowledge into a practical skill.
